The 21st Key Tradition
21 is the age that a person in New Zealand is classed as an adult, and the giving of the 21st key is a strong New Zealand tradition to symbolize opening the door of maturity and becoming an adult. Alternatively, the giving of a key is a symbol of the limitless doors they can open in their life.
The key is crafted from recycled Native New Zealand Rimu veneerboard, medium density fibreboard (mdf), Gaboon veneer plywood and embellished with NZ Paua shell.

We normally ship within 5 working days from placement of order. Couriers can take a further 1-2 days for North Island delivery, 1-3 days for South Island and rural is up to 5 days. I ordered 2 x 21st keys for my kids joint birthday on 22nd November. They arrived in time (my fault forgetting to order earlier). Both kids and guests were amazed when both keys were uncovered and presented to them. Unfortunately I didn't get any photos but have found a couple that others took
